About Manicure Roulette
Manicure Roulette® is the original nail design card game, first launched in 2022.
It was created to help nail techs and nail artists solve one simple but common problem - deciding what nails to create.
Instead of scrolling endlessly for inspiration or struggling through indecisive consultations, Manicure Roulette uses a set of card decks to guide the design process.
Each deck controls a different part of the manicure, allowing you to combine cards together to generate unique nail designs every time.
There are no strict rules, meaning you can use the cards however you like - whether you're creating nail sets for clients, practising designs, or planning content.
Today, Manicure Roulette is used by thousands of nail creatives worldwide as a simple tool to spark ideas and make the design process more fun.
How Does Manicure Roulette Work?
Manicure Roulette helps you decide what nails to create by guiding the consultation process.
Instead of scrolling endlessly for inspiration or struggling through indecisive consultations, the cards narrow down the options and spark new ideas.
Shuffle the cards, draw your combination and let the results inspire the manicure.
You can follow the cards exactly, redraw options you don’t like, or simply use them as inspiration - the cards are there to guide creativity, not control it.

The Foundation Deck | 12 Cards
The Foundation Deck builds the base of the manicure.
This deck focuses on the core nail foundation shade, colour or tone - this could be the base, builder gel, hard gel or full colour of the nail.
Designed specifically for minimalist nail techs and clients, it removes overwhelm and narrows choices.
Use this deck to establish a timeless foundation before adding detail.
The Detail Deck | 14 Cards
The Detail Deck decides the manicure design or look.
This deck introduces subtle design elements that elevate the nail look, without overpowering it - such as micro french, sheer chrome and other minimalist accents.
Use this deck to add detail or nail art, while keeping the overall look controlled, clean and quiet.
How To Use The Cards
There are no strict rules when using Manicure Roulette®.
You can use both decks together or independently, depending on how minimal or refined you want the final look to be.
Popular ways nail techs use the cards:
Shuffle & Draw - Shuffle the decks and draw cards at random to generate a minimalist combination.
Curated Draw - Remove anything that doesn’t suit your style or your client, then shuffle and draw.
Client Selection - Lay the cards out and allow your client to choose elements they’re drawn to.

All Manicure Roulette cards are:
• A7 size
• printed on premium silk card
• laminated on both sides with satin-matte laminate
This creates a smooth, durable finish that makes the cards easy to shuffle, more resistant to light wear and water resistent.
Each system is presented in a textured keepsake box designed to protect the cards and allow space for future Expansion Packs.
Common Questions
Is this just a smaller version of The Original Game?
No - Minimalist is a completely separate system. It’s designed specifically for refined, understated nail styles, rather than full-spectrum creativity. It has different decks within it, compared to The Original Game system.
Do I need to be good at nail art to use this?
Not at all. The cards guide the design process. Minimalist designs can be kept simple while still looking elevated and intentional.
What if my clients don’t want to use the cards?
Many nail techs use the cards behind the scenes to generate ideas or narrow down options. You can present a final concept instead - or use them when your client says, “I don’t mind, you choose.”
Do I need to use both decks every time?
No. You can use Foundation or Detail independently depending on the manicure you want to create.
Is this only for minimalist nail artists?
While it was designed for neutral specialists, many nail techs use Minimalist when clients want clean, understated designs.
Can I use this with my existing nail products?
Yes - the cards simply guide the design process and work alongside any system or products you already use.
Can I use this with my other Manicure Roulette products?
Yes - all Manicure Roulette products are designed to work alone or together.
Are there any Minimalist Expansion Packs?
Minimalist was new for Feb 2026 - however, we do plan to create expansion packs in the future.
Card Care
To keep your cards looking their best:
• avoid acetone or strong solvents
• handle cards with clean or gloved hands
• store them safely inside the box when not in use
Cards can be gently cleaned with a lightly damp cloth or isopropyl alcohol away from the edges to prevent lifting of the laminate.
If a permanent collection card becomes lost or damaged, we offer a Card Replacement Service on our website.
Made to order & returns
All card-based products are printed and finished to order in-house.
This means your items are created specifically for you once your order is placed.
For this reason, we’re unable to offer returns, refunds or exchanges on card-based products, unless your item arrives faulty or damaged.
